share something=)...

This is just about what I learned about marine animals specially those I've handled.

first... Lobsters...=)..

now... lobster changes its exoskeleton by molting which you call carapace. It usually happens once a month... an avarage youngster lobster(rhyme=) usually molts 6-8 times so that's 6-8 mos.=).

A lobster has an exoskeleton right? how do they move?
- They move by hydraulics they shift different pressures on its body to move ok? but... once a lobster devloped a somewhat burned-look part... its a disease ( I've searched it a long time ago so I'm not quite sure) that needs long term medicating so if you do not want your lobster to acquire that...

change you water regularly... at least 2 a week, why?

lobsters scavenge food so what does it do? by doing that they rip tiny foods making the water quality poor ( In my case)

They are usually territorial and ... watch out for some fights between lobsters... they typically end up ripping the parts of each other... got it?

next...  about the community... of the aquarium.

lobster are omnivorous(in my case hehehe) they usually eat... fruits & vegies... but they eat fishes too... so that's why....

compatibility of fishes is important...

rule # 1 : do not put Agressive fishes( in my personal view)... you can put bloody parrot fishes since the have an uncommon mouth which they cannot close... do not  BPF third generation... they have formed mouths which can bite...

rule#2 : do not put bottom-dwellers that are too small... at least somewhat bigger than lobsters...

rule#3 : since lobsters are territorial, a cave or shelter is important...

rule#4 : lobsters are nocturnal...(I think)... or they are just more active at night... do not expect them to tumble in the day-time....

rule#5 : lobsters are masters of escape... it is up to you to strategize...

rule#6 : do let them starve... do not overfeed them.... same... making them starve drive them vicious for food, they might hunt your fishes.

rule#7 : about the fishes, do not put fishes that are too active... or too slow... - too slow or passive fishes might be a meal for them... same thing too active fishes...their vicegrips? pincers are strong enough to capture fishes...

rule#8 : you can tame them!!kudos!! for me it was very difficult really... I got to punctures from them... their pincers are too strong... try it hahah... once they grow larger... the pincers tend to grow on a crescent shape making the tip pointed... or ( i forgot the term peace). you can teach them how to "somersault" or tumbling or even... teach a jab, a hook, a straight ,an uppercut...=) peace... joke... po... you can tame them... to eat on your hand... or even... feed them with your hand... or react when you point your hand towards the aquarium...(I think its a behevioral approach...?guessing... I already forgot... but if you want to tame them... read some... and apply ...) you will learn a lot...

reminder... clean your wounds afterward... it is difficult=)

rule#9 : uhhhmmmm about the gender,last... you can try to look at the gonads... where? the junction between the upperbody and the segmented part of thier body... I do not how to describe it... but its there=)... In case if you want to breed...

rule#10 : they can survive without the aquarium... about  3 days w/o H2O,(very dangerous to try... they might die... I got this info from my.... mentors=)   without aquarium provided that they are kept somewhat watery? or with moist.... ahhh!!!!  do not let them dry... you might not want them to be like... "DAING"(grammar?)

(information here might be unreliable... it is based from my experience... if you are in doubt try to violate the rules=)...

grammars and spellings* sorry.. I'm tired... I went on a tournament...  before doing this..=)....

Thanks=)...
